Introducing: Soft Pastels
Capturing the shimmering and chiming guitar tone of the early 80s, Soft Pastels really have something special buried under the reverb and echo of their newest single, "Origin". This dream pop act from Dijon, France aren't afraid to imitate their influences, which include Craft Spells, Wild Nothing and perhaps even a hint of Echo in the Bunnymen. The track's bassline and youthful sounding vocals call to mind "Leave Me Alone" by New Order, which is pretty good company if I do say so myself. Below is a previously released track, "Atlas Mountains", which shares a twangy lo-fi vibe with Real Estate.
